How legal transcription pricing works
Most certified legal work is billed per minute of audio, not per page. Speaker count and turnaround drive the rate.
What raises cost
- More speakers on the recording
- Faster (rush) delivery
- Poor audio quality or heavy crosstalk
- Specialty formatting or verbatim requirements
- Spanish transcription or translation
What keeps cost predictable
- Clear speaker count and turnaround needs upfront
- Usable audio with labeled files
- Standard vs extended timing when the deadline allows
- Human certified work when court use matters β see our security & certification page
Pricing FAQs
Straight answers before you upload files.
Is the calculator a final price?
No. It multiplies our published per-minute rates by your audio length. Final quotes can change with audio quality, speaker clarity, formatting, or scope.
Do you charge per page or per minute?
Our published court and Spanish rates are per minute of audio. That keeps pricing tied to the recording length rather than variable page counts.
Are rush jobs more expensive?
Yes. Rush (1β2 business days) is higher than standard (3β5) or extended (6β10). Use the calculator to compare.
Does Spanish use the same court rate table?
Spanish transcription or translation is listed separately at $6.00 per minute ASAP.
Do you use AI to lower price on certified transcripts?
No. Certified legal transcripts are produced by human professionals. We do not use AI for certified work.
